Dinosaurs UnearthedPrint, InteractiveDinosaurs Unearthed is an exciting new exhibit at the Lawrence Hall of Science. The larger than life animatronic  dinosaurs take the visitor back in time to when dinos ruled the earth. The advertisements were aimed at enticing those first encounters with these beasts up close and personal.

Dino PassThe new featured exhibit gave the Hall a chance to extend the exhibit into hands-on science with a young explorers area, dino expositions and workshops. The dino pass gave visitors full unlimited access to the Hall and all its new programs.

AdvertisingThrough outdoor media, we were able to spread our reach to attract new visitors and potential members. The campaign was centered on "bringing you up close and personal with these full-size prehistoric creatures, right here in Berkeley."

As the lead designer of this project, I wanted to create an experience that really put the user in the environment. Using textures and vibrant photos from the area allows the user to become engaged with the enviorment. There is also an interactive map that allows the user to explore the audio stories.

Personal ProjectsAssorted PrintThese are a few samples of my personal projects. They range from holiday cards and gifts to personalized stationery. Personal projects give me a chance to have fun and try to be creative and work outside my comfort zone. I have worked with many different materials such as toys, bottles, boxes and more and really enjoy the challenge that each project brings.

It was also part of the concept to create a series of labels and products that would help to illustrate strong brand awareness and design.

The Hall 2010 GalaBranding, Print, InteractiveThe Lawrence Hall of Science Gala is an important fund-raising event and an opportunity to celebrate the wonderful contributions of the hall's partners and supporters that enable the vital work of the hall to continue.We created a complete identity for this unique occasion. Starting with a logo and save-the-date cards, we were able to develop invitations and print collateral to send to potential sponsors and gala attendees. These items included a large format brochure as well as family passes and sponsorship materials. We also developed a website to act as an online program of gala activities and events.

Gala InvitationsAttracting members, donors, and supporters of the hall was about keeping the invitations clean and simple. National Science Digital Library, an expertly curated catalog of freely available online science education resources.

The project consisted of a new identity, print collateral and a website that would be used as a community for informal educators. I was the lead designer for this project where I created the complete visual identity and collateral. I worked with a team to develop the information architecture, visual design and user experience.

It was an opportunity to reach out to an adult audience and increase awareness and education though science focused activities. 

The Hall piloted a range of different event types to understand what types of programs would be most attractive to adult audiences. This included performances, lectures/panel discussions, and hands-on challenges where attendees designed, built and tested their own creations. We utilized a range of marketing techniques, including traditional and social networking, to determine what mix of tactics were most effective.

Promoting an experience branded for adultsTo promote the event we developed a campaign targeted at young adults with an interest in science and social activity. Print ads, posters, flyers, a website, and branded facebook and twitter pages were created, and elements like QR codes were featured prominently. 
 
We received approximately 16 million impressions over 16 weeks through BART interior car card ads. We did two Geek Out! ticket giveaways to 50,000 BART email members and subscribers. An online radio campaign with CBS delivered another 800,000 impressions. Geek Out! tweets have extended our reach to 6,500+ followers.

The new site would feature their curriculum in a way that would easily allow educators to assess the program and how they could adopt it into their schools. The new site is more robust allowing users to explore the individual units and provides teachers with support material and standards correlations.
